Terms & Conditions · Effective January 2025

Clear Rules. Fair Community.

These terms exist to protect every member. They are written in plain language so you understand your rights and responsibilities on this platform.

Last updated: January 2025 · Governed by Indian law

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account on dhor.in or using any feature of this platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines posted on the platform.

If you do not agree to these terms, you must not create an account or use the platform. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Dhor Digital Community Platform (operated by [Company Name], registered in India).

2. Eligibility

To use this platform, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be a member of the Dhor community, or a direct family member of a Dhor community member (spouse, parent, or child).
  • Provide accurate identity and community verification information during registration.
  • Not have been previously banned from the platform for a conduct violation.
  • Not be prohibited from using digital platforms under any Indian court order.

The platform may introduce open access sections for non-community members in future. Community-only features (matrimony, genealogy, family directory) will always remain restricted.

3. Account Rules

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Do not share your password with anyone. The platform will never ask for your password via email, call, or message.

One person may hold one active account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans or verification requirements is prohibited and will result in permanent exclusion.

You must notify us immediately at support@dhor.in if you believe your account has been compromised.

Accounts that are inactive for 24 consecutive months may be deactivated. You will receive prior notice and an opportunity to reactivate.

4. Community Conduct Policy

Our community code defines the standard of behaviour expected from every member. Violations are taken seriously and may result in suspension or permanent ban.

Respect All Community Members

  • Treat every member with the same dignity you expect for yourself.
  • Do not post content that demeans, mocks, or targets any person based on caste, gender, age, disability, or religion.
  • Zero tolerance for harassment, bullying, stalking, or intimidation of any member.
  • Disputes between members must be resolved through the platform's reporting and mediation system — not through public posts.

Honest and Authentic Communication

  • All information in your profile must be truthful and current.
  • Do not impersonate another person, community leader, or organisation.
  • Do not spread misinformation about community events, leaders, or health matters.
  • Promotional content for third-party services must be disclosed as such.

Prohibited Content

  • Hate speech, caste-based slurs, or content that promotes discrimination in any form.
  • Explicit sexual content, nudity, or content that sexualises minors.
  • Political propaganda, party fundraising, or electoral campaign material.
  • Links to malware, phishing, scam schemes, or fraudulent services.
  • Content that violates the IT Act 2000, DPDP Act 2023, or any applicable Indian law.

5. Matrimony Safety Policy

Matrimony is our most sensitive feature. These rules exist to protect every family on the platform.

  • 1.You must be at least 18 years of age to create a matrimonial profile.
  • 2.All information in your matrimonial profile — including name, age, employment, family background, and health status — must be truthful and accurate.
  • 3.Matrimony data is visible only to other verified matrimonial seekers unless you adjust your privacy settings.
  • 4.Misrepresentation of identity, income, or marital status in the matrimonial section is a serious violation and may result in permanent account termination and referral to law enforcement.
  • 5.The platform's AI-based marriage conflict checker (gotra and relationship degree analysis) is advisory. Final verification of family compatibility remains the responsibility of the families involved.
  • 6.The platform does not arrange marriages, act as an agent, or take responsibility for outcomes of introductions made through the platform.
  • 7.Do not share another member's matrimonial profile information outside the platform without their explicit consent.
  • 8.Report any inappropriate contact, misrepresentation, or suspicious behaviour immediately using the 'Report' button on any profile.

6. Business Listing Policy

  • Business listings must represent a real, operating business owned or operated by a Dhor community member.
  • Listing content must be accurate. False advertising, fake reviews, or misleading descriptions will result in immediate removal.
  • Adult services, gambling, alcohol, tobacco, or businesses that are illegal under Indian law are not permitted on the platform.
  • Businesses may not contact users who have not opted into business communications.
  • Premium listing fees are non-refundable once the listing period has begun.
  • The platform reserves the right to remove or demote a listing that receives substantiated complaints from community members.

7. Content Policy

By posting content (text, images, audio, video) on this platform, you grant Dhor.in a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, share, and distribute your content within the platform and its official social media channels.

You retain full ownership of your content. We will not sell your content to third parties or use it in advertising without your explicit written consent.

Content that violates the IT Act 2000, POCSO Act, or any applicable Indian law will be removed immediately and may be reported to the relevant authorities.

The platform operates a 3-strike content moderation system. Three substantiated violations result in permanent account termination.

8. Payments and Donations

All payments are processed by Razorpay, a RBI-regulated payment aggregator. The platform does not store your full card number or bank account details.

Donations made to community campaigns are used exclusively for the stated campaign purpose. A minimum of 92% of all donations reach beneficiaries — platform processing costs do not exceed 8%.

80G tax exemption receipts are issued within 7 working days for donations to eligible NGO campaigns. The platform cannot guarantee 80G eligibility for all campaigns — this is stated clearly on each campaign page.

Donations are non-refundable once a campaign disbursement has begun. In cases of campaign cancellation, funds are returned within 14 working days.

9. Privacy

Your use of this platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023.

10. Limitation of Liability

Dhor.in is a community platform and is not responsible for the actions, representations, or conduct of its members. The platform facilitates connections — it does not endorse, verify, or guarantee any individual member's claims.

The platform's liability for any claim arising out of use of the platform is limited to the amount paid by you to the platform in the 12 months preceding the claim.

The platform is not liable for outcomes of matrimonial introductions, business transactions, job placements, or donations made between members.

If you enter into any financial transaction, marriage agreement, or business contract with another member, you do so at your own risk. Always verify identity and conduct due diligence independently.

11. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. This will remove your profile and data within 30 days in accordance with our data retention policy.

The platform may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to other community members. Serious violations (fraud, harassment, CSAM) will result in immediate permanent termination and referral to law enforcement.

Terminated accounts may appeal within 14 days by contacting appeals@dhor.in. Appeals are reviewed by a 3-person community moderation panel.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Nanded, Maharashtra.

Before initiating legal proceedings, you agree to first attempt resolution through the platform's community mediation process (available at disputes@dhor.in).

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.

For questions about these Terms, contact legal@dhor.in. We are committed to explaining any part of these Terms in simple language — in English, Marathi, or Kannada.
